Seventeen individuals suspected of being part of the Daesh terrorist group’s Ankara network were arrested, following an investigation by the Terrorism and Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The suspects were identified as active members involved in organizational activities within the Ankara-based operations of Daesh.

Investigation leads to multiple arrests

The ongoing investigation into Daesh’s Ankara network revealed that the suspects had been engaged in terrorist activities, prompting the prosecutor’s office to issue arrest warrants. Law enforcement carried out the arrests as part of a coordinated operation, aiming to dismantle Daesh’s presence in the capital.

Türkiye has been actively pursuing counterterrorism operations to disrupt terrorist networks, particularly those linked to Daesh. The arrest of the 17 individuals is part of Türkiye’s broader effort to mitigate the risk posed by extremist organizations within its borders.
