Magnitude 4.3 earthquake strikes Türkiye’s Canakkale
A 4.3 magnitude earthquake shook the Ayvacik district of Canakkale, Türkiye, at 17:56 local time on Saturday, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The earthquake, with its epicenter in Ayvacik, was recorded at a depth of 9.02 kilometers, as reported by AFAD’s official website.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been issued.
No negative reports, says Canakkale governer
Canakkale Governor Omer Toraman announced that no negative reports have been received following the 4.3 magnitude earthquake that struck the Ayvacik district of Canakkale on Saturday.
In a statement shared on his social media account, Governor Toraman said, “No negative reports have been received by our relevant units so far regarding the earthquake that occurred in the Aegean Sea. Our monitoring and inspection activities are ongoing.”
Authorities are continuing to assess the situation as a precautionary measure.
