4 Israeli soldiers killed, 14 wounded in southern Lebanon
Four Israeli reserve soldiers and three Hezbollah operatives were killed during clashes in a southern Lebanon village yesterday evening, according to Israeli military reports.
The clash also left 14 Israeli soldiers wounded, with 5 reportedly in serious condition.
Names of killed Israeli soldiers released
The Israeli military has identified the four soldiers as:
- Cpt. (res.) Rabbi Avraham Yosef Goldberg, 43, from Jerusalem.
- Master Sgt. (res.) Gilad Elmaliach, 30, from Jerusalem.
- Cpt. (res.) Amit Chayut, 29, from Haifa.
- Maj. (res.) Eliav Amram Abitbol, 36, from Eitan.
The soldiers were serving with the Alon Brigade’s 8207th Battalion assigned in southern Lebanon with the Israeli army.
Ongoing investigation and response
Among the 14 wounded Israeli soldiers, 5 are reported to be in serious condition. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, with further details expected in the coming days.
