90% of Turkish people back Türkiye’s ops against terrorist group PKK/YPG: Survey
Asal Research, a Türkiye-based research organization, conducted a survey in October 2024 to measure public support for operations against the PKK terrorist organization in Türkiye.
Out of 2,000 participants surveyed, 89.8% supported the PKK operations, while 10.2% opposed them.
The survey highlighted notable differences in support for PKK operations based on political affiliation:
- AK Party voters: 95.5% support
- CHP voters: 79% support
- MHP voters: 93% support
- IYI Party voters: 89% support
- DEM Party voters: Only 22.4% support
These findings suggest that there is strong overall public backing for the operations against the PKK terrorist organization in Türkiye. Additionally, the survey highlights the significant impact of political party affiliation on the level of support for these counterterrorism efforts.
PKK terrorist group
PKK terrorist group which has offshoots in Iraq and Syria, has been waging a terror campaign against Türkiye for more than 40 years. Listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States and the European Union, the group has been responsible for the death of some 40,000 people, including women and children.
