Türkiye destroys 27 PKK targets in northern Iraq

Airstrikes have successfully eliminated the targets located in Metina, Zap, Gara, Qandil and Hakurk, according to the National Defense Ministry

The National Defense Ministry has reported that 27 PKK targets, comprising hideouts, caves and shelters, were effectively neutralized by the Turkish security forces in northern Iraq.

This decisive action, aimed at thwarting the terrorist activities of the PKK, underscores Türkiye’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its citizens and ensuring peace and security in the region. 

The Ministry reiterated its solemn pledge to honor the memory of fallen heroes by never allowing their sacrifices to be in vain.

Emphasizing the importance of upholding the legacy of those who have bravely defended the country, the Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to eradicating terrorism and maintaining stability in the face of threats posed by the PKK. 

The PKK’s persistent use of northern Iraq as a base for orchestrating cross-border attacks against Türkiye underscores the ongoing challenges posed by this terrorist organization.

Türkiye remains resolute in its efforts to counter these threats and protect its citizens from acts of violence and aggression. 

In its extensive history of over 35 years, the PKK has inflicted immense suffering, claiming the lives of more than 40,000 individuals, including innocent women, children and infants.
