The Palestinian Football Federation has proposed that FIFA Congress in Thailand address Israel’s alleged violations against Palestinian sports

The Palestinian Football Federation (PFA) proposed that Israel’s violations against Palestinian sports be discussed at the congress of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) to be held in Thailand.

According to the statement made by PFA, an agenda proposal was made for the congress to be held on May 17 in Bangkok, Thailand’s capital.

Palestine’s proposal to FIFA calls for “respect for its international obligations towards human rights and international humanitarian law and to take a stand on the serious violations of human rights and international law committed by Israel in its war of extermination against the Palestinian people.”

The proposal calls for immediate sanctions against the Israeli national and other football teams. It demands to address the Israeli Football Federation’s repeated failure to take decisive action against racism and discrimination in areas under its jurisdiction.

In the proposal, it was emphasized that the Israeli Football Federation was complicit in the crimes committed by “providing moral support to the violations committed by its government and by taking a position that made up justifications for the violations.”

It added: “The war caused the death of at least 99 football players and destroyed housing units, training facilities, places of worship, football facilities and hospitals.” It caused unprecedented destruction, including “This constitutes a flagrant violation of international human rights, law, and humanitarian customs.”
