3 Lebanese soldiers killed in Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon

Three Lebanese soldiers were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a military vehicle in southern Lebanon on Sunday, the Lebanese army confirmed.
Lebanese army published a statement on social media platform X and said: “The Israeli enemy targeted an army vehicle on the Ain Ebel-Hanin road in the south, which led to the death of three martyrs.”

The attack occurred on a highway between Ain Ebel and Hanin, in the city of Bint Jbeil, according to a statement by the Lebanese military. The vehicle was struck during an ongoing escalation of hostilities between Israeli forces and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
Escalation in Lebanon-Israel conflict
Since September 23, Israel has intensified its aerial campaign in Lebanon, claiming to target Hezbollah positions. The strikes have so far claimed the lives of more than 1,500 people and displaced over 1.34 million, according to local reports.
The conflict has been marked by a series of cross-border exchanges since Israel launched its offensive on Gaza last year, following a Hamas attack. More than 42,600 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip, most of them women and children, according to health authorities.

Israel expanded its military operations on Oct.1 with a ground incursion into southern Lebanon. The escalation has prompted concerns of a broader regional conflict, with cross-border skirmishes intensifying between Israeli forces and Hezbollah fighters.
