At least nine people were wounded this morning in a series of rocket impacts across northern Israel, as Hezbollah launched an attack targeting the Haifa area and Western Galilee.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that approximately 55 rockets were fired, with 20 of them aimed at the Haifa region. Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Casualties and injuries reported

In Kiryat Atta, a 28-year-old man was injured by shrapnel and is listed in light-to-moderate condition, according to Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s ambulance service. Additionally, MDA treated a man and a woman in their 40s who were lightly wounded in the blast, along with five others suffering from acute anxiety.

In a separate incident in the Western Galilee, four people were injured when a rocket struck a road. A man in his 30s is reported to be in moderate condition after being hit by shrapnel, while three others sustained minor injuries.

Hezbollah claims responsibility

The IDF confirmed that 55 rockets were fired during the barrage, with 20 targeting the Haifa area. Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group, took responsibility for the rocket attack. The IDF continues to monitor the situation and has not yet released details on its response.

Hezbollah said it fired rockets on Saturday towards a region north of Israel’s Haifa in response to Israeli attacks on its strongholds in southern Lebanon.

“The large rocket salvo” came in retaliation for Israeli attacks on south Lebanon villages, Hezbollah announced after the Israeli army said a barrage of projectiles was fired from Lebanon into northern Israel, with sirens blaring at regular intervals.

A car caught fire in Kiryat Ata following the latest rocket barrage, resulting people sustaining minor injuries. Additionally, fragments from interceptions landed in open fields between Kiryat Bialik and Kiryat Ata, with multiple reported injured.

In the latest barrages: ten were slightly and moderately injured in Kiryat Ata, Shlomi and the Golan Heights. Israeli Army Radio is reporting at least 13 people have been injured in these rocket attacks today.
