A cartoon drawn by Fatih Dursun, an eighth-grade Turkish student from the Boyabat district of Sinop, has won a world championship award for highlighting animal rights.

Fatih, a student at Türkiye’s Boyabat Yasar Topcu Boarding Secondary School, submitted his cartoon to the 36th International Olense Kartoenale held in Belgium, where it was selected as the world champion among hundreds of entries.

Askin Ayrancioglu, the school’s Visual Arts Teacher, expressed pride in Fatih’s achievement, noting that he has witnessed numerous national and international accolades among his students during his 25-year tenure at the school.

“In this school, where students from rural areas come to study, I have conducted cartoon workshop activities for many years. Many of our students have achieved significant successes nationally and internationally,” Ayrancioglu said.

“This illustrates that with discipline, hard work, belief, perseverance, love, and patience, there is no success our children cannot reach, regardless of their environment. I congratulate Fatih for conveying the right to life for animals through the effective language of cartoons and sending a message to the world. I wish him continued success.”

Ilhan Ozkan, the Principal of Boyabat Yasar Topcu Boarding School, also congratulated the students and expressed hopes for their ongoing success.
