Türkiye’s Trendyol leads e-commerce growth in Azerbaijan
Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, recently hosted the InMerge Innovation Summit, which brought together representatives from various sectors, including companies, public institutions, nongovernmental organizations (NGO)s and professional organizations within the global technology ecosystem.
‘We support innovative companies’
According to the Turkish media outlet, Milliyet, the summit was held at the Baku Conference Center, organized by Pasha Holding with support from Trendyol. In his opening remarks, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Reshad Nabiyev, underscored the importance of cybersecurity in technological advancement, stating, “We are committed to supporting startups in this critical area.”
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Cabbarov, reaffirmed the government’s dedication to fostering innovative companies and continuing to invest in future growth.
‘We are number one in Azerbaijan’
During the summit, Erdem Inan, CEO of Trendyol Group, observed that innovation is continuously transforming society at an extraordinary pace. “Our commitment to addressing evolving needs has enabled us to transition from a fashion-focused e-commerce company in Istanbul to a technology-driven marketplace platform, he maintained.
He further said that the platform now connects over 250,000 sellers with approximately 40 million customers across Türkiye, Germany, the Gulf countries, Central and Eastern Europe and Azerbaijan.
“By reaching 2 million customers, we have established ourselves as the leading e-commerce platform in Azerbaijan,” he concluded.
