At least seven civilians, including women and children, were killed and 11 others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in Damascus, Syria’s state media reported Wednesday.

According to Syria’s SANA news agency, the strike targeted the densely populated Mezzeh neighborhood, with three missiles fired from the occupied Golan Heights. “The Israeli enemy launched an airstrike… targeting a residential building in the Mezzeh neighborhood,” the report said, citing an unnamed military source.

The attack caused significant material damage, with rescue operations underway to save those trapped under the rubble.

Strike near Iranian Embassy

Meanwhile, Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency reported that Israel had struck a building near the Iranian embassy in Damascus. Meanwhile, Mazzeh neighborhood of Damascus is an area known for housing security headquarters and several embassies.

Israel has conducted airstrikes in Syria since 2011, primarily targeting government forces, Iranian military personnel, and Hezbollah positions.

Israeli media shares assassination list

In the aftermath of recent military operations, Israeli media outlets have released a new assassination list, claiming five individuals are now targeted for elimination. Channel 14 reported the list, accompanied by photographs of those purportedly marked for assassination.

The list includes:

  • Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani: A prominent Shiite leader in Iraq.
  • Sayyed Abdelmalek al-Houthi: Leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement.
  • Sheikh Naim Qassem: Deputy Secretary General of Hezbollah.
  • Yahya Sinwar: Leader of Hamas.
  • Esmail Qaani: Commander of the Quds Force.

No Iranian casualties

Meanwhile, the Iranian Embassy in Damascus issued a statement confirming that no Iranian citizens were killed or injured in the Israeli attack on a civilian building near the embassy.

The embassy condemned the missile strike, asserting that it targeted civilians and described the incident as an act of aggression.
