Turkish intelligence eliminates PKK/YPG terrorist planning suicide attack
Türkiye’s national intelligence organization, MIT, eliminated Hezal Belge, a senior member of YPJ, an all-female wing of the terrorist group PKK/YPG, who was reportedly planning a suicide bombing attack in Türkiye.
According to intelligence sources, Belge was identified as one of the key figures responsible for coordinating attacks within Türkiye. MIT had been tracking her movements and planning in coordination with other security forces, leading to her killing.
Details of operation
The intelligence organization’s efforts to prevent potential attacks have intensified amid rising threats from terrorist groups. In a statement, sources noted that Belge had been involved in several plots and had recently been organizing a suicide bombing aimed at targeting Turkish civilians and infrastructure.
“Hezal Belge, one of the so-called leaders of the PKK/YPJ terrorist organization, was neutralized in an operation by MIT after it was confirmed that she was planning a suicide bombing in Türkiye,” the statement read. Authorities often use the term “neutralized” in statements to imply the terrorists in question surrendered, were killed or captured.
