Work continues on Chinese auto giant BYD factory in Türkiye
Infrastructure preparations are underway on land allocated to Chinese automotive giant BYD in Manisa, where the company plans to establish a major production facility.
The site, located in the “7th Section” of the Manisa Organized Industrial Zone (OSB), spans approximately 160 hectares, and site clearance and groundwork are currently being carried out by OSB teams.
The land allocation process for BYD, one of the world’s leading automotive companies, has been completed, and applications for construction permits are in progress.
The facility, which will include a factory, R&D center, and supplier park, is part of BYD’s long-term investment in Türkiye. Alongside land preparations, new road routes are being established to improve access to the site.
Construction and investment timeline
In July, a contract was signed between BYD and Türkiye’s Ministry of Industry and Technology during a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The agreement represents a significant investment by BYD in Türkiye’s automotive sector.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir announced that BYD is expected to begin production in Manisa by 2026, marking a major milestone in the partnership between the Chinese company and Türkiye.
