A writer and producer for MSNBC has been recorded admitting that the network is intentionally pushing US Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 campaign, according to an undercover investigation by O’Keefe Media Group (OMG). Basel Hamdan, who works on the network’s “Ayman” show, was secretly filmed discussing MSNBC’s alignment with the Democratic Party and its role in amplifying Harris’s messaging.

In the video released by OMG, Hamdan described MSNBC as a “mouthpiece for the Democratic Party” and acknowledged that the network is doing everything it can to assist Harris in defeating former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election. “They’re doing all they can to help,” Hamdan said, referring to MSNBC’s efforts in promoting Harris’s campaign.

According to Hamdan, the network’s editorial stance is closely intertwined with Harris’s daily messaging. He revealed that MSNBC’s coverage often mirrors the vice president’s “quote of the day” and accused the network of being indistinguishable from the Democratic Party. “What her message of the day is, is their message of the day,” Hamdan remarked during his conversation with the undercover journalist.

In addition to discussing MSNBC’s close ties with Harris, Hamdan criticized the network’s broader relationship with the Democratic Party, accusing it of leaning too far left. He suggested that the network’s partisanship has contributed to a lack of critical journalism, which he believes has “dumbed down” its audience. “MSNBC has made its viewers dumber over the years,” Hamdan said, adding that the network pushes misinformation in order to maintain its progressive slant.

Hamdan’s comments reflect a larger concern about media objectivity, particularly as MSNBC has been criticized for its liberal bias in recent years. In the video, Hamdan elaborated on how the network often features people connected to Democratic politics, further reinforcing its alignment with the party. “The type of people who work in Democratic politics and in the campaign are often the same type of people who appear on air at MSNBC,” he said. “It reinforces the point I’m making: this news network is indistinguishable from the party.”

Following the release of OMG’s investigation teaser, Hamdan reportedly locked down his social media accounts and erased his LinkedIn profile.

The undercover footage has sparked debate over the role of news outlets in political campaigns, particularly when it comes to balancing coverage of the 2024 election. Critics of MSNBC have long claimed the network holds a liberal bias, and Hamdan’s comments have only fueled those concerns.

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, also weighed in on the controversy by sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter). His post, simply captioned “Obviously,” has generated significant attention, especially given Musk’s previous support for Donald Trump’s candidacy in the 2024 election.

The full investigation from O’Keefe Media Group has yet to be released, though transcripts from the undercover interview were obtained by The Post Millennial, which first reported on the revelations. Hamdan’s admissions about MSNBC’s political leanings have raised questions about the network’s role in covering the election and whether it can maintain a semblance of journalistic neutrality as the race heats up.
