Impassioned Palestine supporters criticize Biden outside fundraising event in New York
Many of the demonstrators displayed Palestinian flags, while others carried placards condemning Biden and the Democratic Party as ‘perpetrators of war crimes’
Hundreds of demonstrators supporting Palestine gathered at Radio City Music Hall in New York City Thursday for a fundraising event for U.S. President Joe Biden ahead of the November presidential elections.
The impassioned crowd protested against Biden’s backing of Israel.
Biden, along with former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, who endorsed him, was the focal point of the protesters at the Democratic Party’s fundraiser to raise $25 million.
The protesters, denouncing Israel’s ongoing civilian casualties in Gaza and the U.S.’s failure to endorse a sustainable ceasefire in the region, shouted slogans like “Genocide Joe must leave!” and “Liberate Palestine!”
Many of the demonstrators displayed Palestinian flags while others carried placards condemning Biden and the Democratic Party as “perpetrators of war crimes.”
Despite heightened security measures, they also demanded an immediate cease-fire in Gaza, urging Democratic voters in New York, where primary elections are ongoing in the 2024 presidential race, to express their dissent by submitting blank ballots at the polls.
