The Turkish Defense Industry Presidency has unveiled a range of cutting-edge indigenous defense systems set to feature prominently at the EFES-2024 military exercise. These systems showcase Türkiye’s robust technological prowess in defense and underline its commitment to bolstering national security.

Among the showcased systems is Baykar’s Bayraktar TB2 Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), designed for reconnaissance, surveillance, intelligence gathering, and combat missions. This Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAV will play a vital role in enhancing Türkiye’s aerial capabilities during the exercise.

Additionally, the TCG Piri Reis submarine, manufactured entirely with local resources, boasts an Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) system, enabling prolonged underwater operations without surfacing, advanced torpedoes, and the ability to launch guided missiles at surface targets quietly and effectively. Its participation in EFES-2024 underscores Türkiye’s advancements in underwater warfare technology.

Roketsan’s UMTAS tank missile, developed for use in attack helicopters, represents Türkiye’s first long-range anti-tank missile, enhancing its ground combat capabilities. This missile system will demonstrate its precision and effectiveness during the military exercise.

Furthermore, the Kalkan Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) UAV, designed by Baykar, is capable of conducting reconnaissance and intelligence-gathering operations. Its inclusion in EFES-2024 highlights Türkiye’s investment in versatile UAV technology.

Equipped with Aselsan’s modernization and FNSS’s power pack, NEFER Kuleli Modernize ZMA enables collective operation of main battle tanks and provides enhanced remote command and surveillance capabilities. This system will contribute to improved situational awareness and personnel safety during the exercise.

The TCG Derya combat support ship, developed by Sefine Shipyard, provides comprehensive replenishment capabilities through sea-based replenishment methods, including fuel, water, provisions, spare parts, medical supplies, and ammunition. Its advanced combat management capacity positions it as a crucial asset in maritime operations, serving as a command and control ship during combat situations.

Aselsan’s Low Altitude Air Defense Weapon System KORKUT SSA, designed for the effective air defense of mobile elements and mechanized units, is slated to participate in the EFES 2024 Exercise.

Additionally, Havelsan’s Sub-Cloud Autonomous Aerial Vehicle BAHA, featuring vertical take-off and landing capability, full autonomous mission capability, modular architecture for integrating various payloads, and other superior features enabling joint operations with all unmanned systems, will also be deployed in the EFES 2024 Exercise.”

These indigenous technologies, showcased at EFES-2024, underscore Türkiye’s determination to strengthen its defense capabilities and safeguard national security interests effectively.
