Israeli Security Cabinet vows decisive response to Iran
During a meeting on Monday, Israel’s Security Cabinet reportedly decided to deliver a “decisive response” to Iran’s missile attacks following coordination with the U.S.
According to a report by Israel’s Channel 12, the Security Cabinet discussed how to respond to the missile strikes carried out by Iran against Israel.
The report claims that a decision was made to respond robustly to the Iranian assault after consultations with U.S. officials. It also suggested that Israel plans to target “strategic areas” in Iran.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that the missile strikes on Israel were in response to attacks that targeted Iranian national security figures, including Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, and Iranian Brigadier General Abbas Nilfuruşan.
Iranian state television reported that approximately 200 missiles were launched at Israel, marking the first use of hypersonic Fettah-1 missiles.
Siren alerts sounded across the country, particularly in Tel Aviv, following the missile launches.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in a video address that Iran had made a “grave mistake” with the missile strike and would “pay the price.”
