Exclusive Turkish island within Konya’s lake for sale at less than $1 per square foot
Beysehir Lake, Türkiye’s largest freshwater lake, located in the country’s heart, offers a unique investment opportunity with the sale of Cecen Island.
The 136-acre Turkish island is available for purchase at $9 per square meter, totaling approximately $4.82 million (₺165 million).
The island’s listing has sparked widespread interest from investors worldwide.
Cecen Island is located just 7.5 miles from the town center of Konya and sits close to Golkasi Mahallesi. Visitors can access the island by using small boats and barges.
People have long chosen the island for agriculture and livestock farming due to its fertile land, finding it appealing for both commercial and environmental opportunities.
Agricultural, livestock opportunities attract buyers to Konya’s Cecen Island
Cecen Island stretches 1.24 miles long and 0.25 miles wide, offering stunning views of the Anamas Mountains and Beysehir Lake. It is ideal for agricultural activities, and farming continues on the island to this day.
“We have multiple islands connected to Golkasi, and many are used for farming. Cecen Island is around 136 acres, and it’s been listed for sale at $4.82 million (₺165 million). There’s a lot of interest,” Golkasi’s village mukhtar, Ali Navruz, explained.
Farmers currently use small boats to transport sheep and farming equipment to and from the island, which is just 1.24 miles from the mainland. Its practicality, combined with its natural beauty, has enhanced its appeal to potential buyers.
Local, international investors flock to Turkish island with growing interest
Real estate agent Samet Ok, who is handling the sale, noted that the island has drawn significant attention from buyers.
“Selling an island like this in Konya is exciting. This is the only island available for sale in the region, and we’ve already received a lot of interest from both local and international buyers,” Ok said.
Several potential buyers have visited the area to explore the island’s potential, though no formal deals have been made yet.
“Recently, a company from Istanbul visited to assess the island. Although there was some interest, no agreement has been reached so far,” Navruz added.
Exclusive Turkish island listing impacts real estate market
According to Ok, the sale of Cecen Island stands out as a rare opportunity in Türkiye’s real estate market.
“You don’t often see an island for sale, especially one with this much agricultural potential and natural beauty. At $9 per square meter, it’s an excellent opportunity,” Ok commented.
Interest in properties that blend agricultural value with scenic landscapes is on the rise, and Cecen Island’s exclusivity as the only available island for sale in Konya adds to its desirability.
Investors seem drawn to the island’s fertile land, practical uses and the rare chance to own a piece of such a unique environment in Türkiye.
