Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel demands immediate action to end what he calls a ‘genocide’ in Gaza, denouncing Israeli actions
Cuba’s President Miguel Diaz-Canel has urged the international community to take action to end what he termed a “genocide” in Gaza.
Diaz-Canel shared a photo of the Palestinian flag being projected onto the Jose Marti Memorial in the capital Havana, stating: “Cuba demands that the genocide stop now.”

“As long as Palestinian land continues to be martyred, bled, destroyed to its foundations by the hatred of the Israeli occupier, we cannot tire of denouncing the crime and calling on the international community,” Diaz-Canel stated.
Diaz-Canel has been one of the prominent leaders voicing strong opposition to Israel’s months-long offensive on Gaza and has consistently expressed support for Palestine.
Israeli offensive in Gaza sparks accusations of genocide
The offensive has led to the deaths of over 32,700 Palestinians, predominantly women, and children, along with widespread destruction, displacement, and famine conditions.
Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to cease genocidal acts and ensure humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
