Türkiye-Azerbaijan defense industry relations
As bilateral ties deepen, Türkiye and Azerbaijan are engaged in a comprehensive collaboration in the defense industry.
The Azerbaijani Army actively utilizes many systems developed by the Turkish defense industry.
During Azerbaijan’s 2nd Karabakh Operation, products developed by the Turkish defense industry played a crucial role in achieving victory.
The Bayraktar TB2 UAV and Roketsan-produced MAM-L and MAM-C ammunition were used extensively by the Azerbaijani Army.
Following the operation, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev awarded Selcuk Bayraktar and Haluk Bayraktar medals for their significant contributions.
Moreover, Türkiye-Azerbaijan defense industry relations are intensifying further.
TUSAS is modernizing the Azerbaijani Air Force’s Su-25 combat aircraft. The modernized aircraft are being equipped with ammunition produced by Aselsan and TUBITAK-SAGE.
Aselsan has a subsidiary established in Azerbaijan.
Additionally, BAYKAR recently launched its subsidiary, Baykar Technology Azerbaijan.
‘One nation, two states’
“To the esteemed sons and daughters of the Turkish nation, our heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of Azerbaijan and these lands,” Gorgun wrote in a book.
I am honored and delighted to stand before you in this place’s spiritual tranquility a century after the united struggle of the Ottoman Caucasian Islamic Army and the Azerbaijani Army in 1918.
Your struggle has guaranteed peace and prosperity in Azerbaijani territories today.
The sacrifices you made without hesitation have served as a bridge to strengthen the unwavering fraternal bond between our countries.
We will preserve this blessed legacy you left us, which embodies the eternal brotherhood expressed in the words ‘One nation, two states,’ with all our strength.”
