Türkiye eliminates 17 PKK terrorists in northern Iraq
The Turkish Ministry of National Defense announced that a total of 17 terrorists were eliminated in operations conducted in Gara, Hakurk and Qandil in northern Iraq.
According to the statement, air operations were carried out on Sept. 17 and 18. It was reported that eight terrorists were eliminated Gara, four in Hakurk and five in Qandil.
The ministry emphasized its commitment to ongoing unpredictable, unconventional, rapid, and sustained operations to eliminate terrorism at its source.
The PKK, which threatens the territorial integrity and national security of Türkiye, Iraq, Syria, and Iran, has killed and injured thousands of Turkish citizens since its first attack in Siirt in 1981.
