Türkiye’s consumer confidence index rises to 78.2 in September
Türkiye’s consumer confidence index rose to 78.2 in September, marking a 2.4% increase from the previous month, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT).
The index, which was 76.4 in August, reflects consumer sentiment based on surveys regarding household financial situations and general economic expectations.
Household financial situation shows slight improvement
The index for the current financial situation of households increased by 2.8%, rising from 63.1 in August to 64.8 in September. Similarly, expectations for household finances over the next 12 months rose by 1%, from 76.6 in August to 77.4 in September.
Optimism grows for Türkiye’s general economic situation
Consumer expectations for the general economic situation over the next year also showed notable improvement, with the index rising by 4.2%, from 71.5 to 74.5. This reflects growing optimism among consumers about the country’s overall economic outlook.
Durable goods spending intentions rise
Assessment of consumers’ willingness to spend money on durable goods over the next 12 months rose by 2%, increasing from 94.3 in August to 96.2 in September, suggesting increased confidence in making significant purchases.
