Erdogan vows to combat terrorism, labels PKK, FETO, Daesh and DHKP-C as enemies
During an iftar program with security forces, President Erdogan reiterated Türkiye’s steadfast position against terrorism, declaring all terrorist organizations as enemies of the nation
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at an iftar program with members of the police, gendarmerie and coast guard at the Presidential Complex Exhibition Hall, emphasized the necessity of treating terrorism as a non-political issue.
“From the PKK to FETO, Daesh, and DHKP-C, all terrorist organizations are enemies of our nation. As a government and a state, we have conducted and continue to carry out a highly effective and successful struggle against terrorism,” Erdogan said.
Highlighting the strategy of eradicating terrorism at its source, Erdogan mentioned that Türkiye has reaped the fruits of its efforts both domestically and internationally. He reported that continuous operations have brought the separatist terrorist organization to the brink of extinction.
“With our operations in Syria and Iraq, we have distanced Daesh and PKK/YPG terrorist organizations from our borders. We will continue these positive steps with determination. We are resolute in showing that there is no place for terrorism in Türkiye’s and the region’s future. This determination has been further reinforced with the recent elections,” Erdogan evaluated.
Erdogan reflected on happenings in Van
Erdogan emphasized that those attempting to manipulate Türkiye’s politics, economy, and diplomacy through terrorist organizations will not succeed, as they have not in the past.
Erdogan stated that they have observed efforts to revive weakening terrorist organizations and are closely monitoring these developments. He mentioned incidents of escalating unrest and attacks on people’s properties, particularly in certain cities, since last night.
Erdogan emphasized that certain groups are trying to instill terror in the streets once more, and he highlighted that security forces have taken necessary measures to prevent the situation from escalating further.
Emphasizing that they do not separate the fight against terrorism from democratization, and they do not see democratization as separate from the economy, Erdogan stated that they believe success in one area enhances, elevates, and supports the other.
Erdogan underscored that they have always strived to maintain a balance between freedom and security, emphasizing that it is this balanced approach that has brought them to where they are today.
