Turkish army destroys 24 terrorist targets in northern Iraq
The Ministry of National Defense announced that 24 targets, including caves, shelters, and storage facilities used by the terrorist organization, were destroyed in an air operation in the Hakurk, Gara, Kandil and Asos regions of northern Iraq.
The statement noted that the operation was carried out by the legitimate defense rights under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, aimed at eliminating PKK/KCK and other terrorist elements, preventing terrorist attacks on civilians and security forces, and ensuring border security.
The ministry indicated that the operation targeted 24 locations used by the terrorist organization, including those believed to contain high-level terrorists. The operation employed locally produced ammunition and effectively neutralized many terrorists.
The statement assured that the Turkish military will persist in its counter-terrorism efforts with determination until the last terrorist is eliminated, and that all necessary precautions were taken to protect innocent people, friendly elements, historical and cultural assets, and the environment during the operation.
