Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is allegedly considering the dismissal of Defense Minister Yoav Gallant due to his opposition to a large-scale attack on Lebanon, according to a Haaretz daily report.

Unnamed political sources claim that Netanyahu’s office has circulated messages suggesting Gallant’s resistance to a military operation in Lebanon. Regardless of whether the attack occurs, the groundwork is reportedly being laid for Gallant’s removal.

Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir reiterated his monthslong call for Gallant’s dismissal, stating that Gallant is not the right leader for decisions in the north.

Israeli state TV KAN, however, reported that Netanyahu’s office has denied these claims.
