Türkiye acts independently despite US pressure: Kremlin Spokesman
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has accused the United States of exerting open pressure on Türkiye and threatening its economy. Speaking at a press briefing in Moscow, Peskov stated that despite these efforts, Türkiye continues to prioritize its own interests by maintaining and expanding commercial and economic ties with Russia.
Peskov addressed questions from journalists about current topics and discussed U.S. policy toward Türkiye.
He noted, “The U.S. is openly pressuring Türkiye and threatening to impact the Turkish economy. However, as we see, the Türkiye continues to act in its own interests by developing commercial and economic relations with us.”
Peskov added that Russia is continuing to strengthen its partnership with Türkiye, highlighting the resilience of their bilateral relations despite external pressures.
