French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne calls for potential sanctions on Israel to alleviate dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza amid ongoing Israeli assaults

In a statement made on Tuesday, French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne underscored the extremely dire humanitarian conditions prevailing in the Gaza Strip, which has been targeted by Israeli assaults. Sejourne articulated the prospect of applying sanctions on Israel as a means to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, a region that Israel has subjected to starvation.

“We ought to contemplate the imposition of sanctions on Israel to enable greater aid to reach Gaza,” Sejourne said.

Ceasing settler terrorism

Highlighting Israel’s expansion of its occupation across Palestinian territories through its Jewish settler policy, the French minister emphasized that the issue transcends Gaza, with radicalization in the West Bank further fueling violence.

“We will persist in our efforts to combat radical Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank,” Sejourne said.

Over 33,000 civilians have lost their lives in the Gaza Strip due to Israel’s attacks. Humanitarian aid materials are not reaching Gaza, and survivors of Israel’s assaults are dying from starvation.

Israel’s trial for genocide in the International Court of Justice is ongoing.
