Renowned Turkish expert warns of imminent 7.4 earthquake in three Turkish cities
Renowned Turkish expert Prof. Dr. Naci Gorur, also known for his accurate earthquake predictions, has issued a fresh warning about a potential earthquake in Türkiye. He has indicated that an earthquake with a magnitude of at least 7.4 could strike between Türkiye’s Bingol, Tunceli, and Erzincan.
Gorur emphasized that such an earthquake is imminent, warning, “An earthquake over magnitude 7 is likely, and it will be highly destructive.” He also noted that Tunceli is among the areas at risk.
Speaking on a TV program, geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Gorur made significant comments.
Gorur reported his expectations for an earthquake in Tunceli, explaining, “To the east of Erzincan is Karliova, which marks the eastern end of the North Anatolian Fault. This area, known as the Yedisu fault line, lies between Erzincan and Karliova in Bingol. It is expected to produce an earthquake, and it is not far off.”
‘It’s imminent,’ says Turkish expert
Gorur further detailed that the earthquake between Bingol, Karliova, and Erzincan could have a magnitude of at least 7.4.
He added, “We are also concerned about the area between Karliova and Bingol-Goynuk, which is at a critical point. The February 20 earthquakes may have transferred energy to this region. The expected earthquake could be at least 7.4 in magnitude. The earthquake cycle has stalled, making it imminent.”
