Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has sparked controversy with his remarks advocating for the forcible displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank, similar to the evacuations in Gaza.

Katz claims that Iran is attempting to establish a terrorist front in the West Bank, comparable to its operations in Gaza and Lebanon. He suggests that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) must address the threat with the same rigor, potentially including the temporary evacuation of Palestinian residents.

Katz emphasizes the need to address the threat in the West Bank with the same rigor as in Gaza, including the potential temporary evacuation of Palestinian residents. He asserts that this is a crucial battle for survival and stresses the importance of victory.

Katz’s statements that “Palestinians in the West Bank should be forcibly displaced as in Gaza” has drawn widespread condemnation. While Türkiye strongly condemned Katz’s suggestion, Ruling AK Party spokesperson Omer Celik likened Katz to Nazi Germany’s Foreign Minister Ribbentrop and stated that this approach is a black stain on human history.

Celik condemned Katz’s remarks, describing them as part of a “massacre network” targeting all of humanity. He warned that as long as this network is not stopped, humanity remains under threat. He also stated that as long as this network is not prosecuted for crimes against humanity, no value can survive on behalf of humanity.

Israeli army launches operation in West Bank

The Israeli army launched a military operation in the north of the occupied West Bank on Wednesday. The Israeli army simultaneously attacked the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm using combat helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Israeli forces carried out a raid in Jenin, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the injuries of three others. There was also serious damage and loss of life in Tulkarm and the surrounding refugee camps. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported great difficulty providing assistance to the wounded in the region.

UN condemns Israeli West Bank operations

The United Nations condemned Israel’s operations in the West Bank as a violation of international law. U.N. reports indicate that Israeli attacks have claimed the lives of 628 Palestinians since Oct. 7. Airstrikes in these attacks killed 159 people.

In Gaza, the death toll rose to 40,534. Israeli airstrikes killed 58 people and injured 131 in the last 24 hours. The number of people killed and wounded in Gaza reveals the scale of the humanitarian crisis in the region.

Mustafa Barghouti, secretary general of the Palestinian National Initiative, described the Israeli operations in the West Bank as “acts of war” and stated that these operations are aimed at transferring the ethnic cleansing in Gaza to the West Bank.
