Roman colonnaded street discovered in Antalya, Türkiye
Archaeological excavations at Antalya’s historic Hidirlik Tower unearthed a massive 800-meter-long (2,624-foot) colonnaded street, believed to date back to Roman times. So far, 100 meters of this street has been revealed.
Archaeologists meticulously continue excavating at Antalya’s historic Hidirlik Tower, where conservation efforts for unearthed remains are ongoing.
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Survey Project Branch Manager Ezgi Oz elaborated on ongoing efforts at Hidirlik Tower. She mentioned the discovery of bath and villa mosaics during past excavations and emphasized the municipality’s commitment to protecting these artifacts through sustainable use and preservation projects.
