Lando Norris shocks F1 with 2nd win of 2024 season at Zandvoort
British driver Lando Norris secured his second win of the Formula One 2024 season on Sunday at the 15th Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort. This victory follows his win in Miami in May, marking his second career checkered flag.
Norris overtakes Verstappen by 23 seconds
Norris completed the 72-lap race in one hour, 30 minutes, and 45 seconds. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished in second place, 22.896 seconds behind, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took third, trailing by 25.439 seconds.
Verstappen, the three-time Formula One world champion, continues to lead the driver standings with 295 points and has achieved seven victories this season. Norris and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton have both earned two podium finishes this year.
Other winners this season include George Russell, Carlos Sainz, Oscar Piastri, and Charles Leclerc, each with one victory.
The next Grand Prix will take place in Italy on September 1.
