Türkiye extends anti-dumping measures on polyester fiber imports

Türkiye has decided to extend its anti-dumping measures on polyester fiber imports from China, Indonesia, and South Korea.

The decision, published in the Official Gazette, marks the continuation of protective measures to counteract dumping practices.

The Ministry of Trade’s communique on the Prevention of Unfair Competition in Imports has officially come into effect. The communique outlines the conclusion of a final review investigation conducted by the General Directorate of Imports.

Anti-dumping measures to prevent dumping, associated harm

The investigation revealed that lifting the measures would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping and associated harm. Consequently, the current anti-dumping duty on Chinese products will remain at 21 cents per kilogram, while for products from Indonesia and South Korea, the duties will range from 6.2% to 12% of the cost, insurance, and freight (CIF) value.

In addition, the ministry has also issued a communique on the “Application of Surveillance on Imports” for certain plastic products. The new regulation, published in the Official Gazette, establishes procedures and principles for future surveillance on imports of polyethylene components with resistors and terminal pins.

Under this new rule, the unit customs value for the specified product will be set at $10 per kilogram. Imports will require a surveillance certificate issued by the General Directorate of Imports. This regulation will come into force in 30 days.
