Turkish drones play key role in Mali’s land control efforts, FM says

Mali’s Foreign Minister Diop acknowledges Türkiye’s unmanned combat aerial vehicles’ crucial role in land control efforts, emphasizing strong defense cooperation between the two nations

Turkish unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs) are playing a significant role in helping Mali control its land, according to Mali’s Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Abdoulaye Diop.

Diop highlighted the robust defense and security collaboration between the two nations during the Türkiye-Mali Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting in Ankara.

Diop emphasized the effectiveness of combat drones in Mali’s achievements, which are currently being acknowledged. Mali aims to leverage partnerships with reliable and strategic allies like Türkiye to develop sectors such as agriculture, textiles and mining.

Türkiye’s Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir reiterated the commitment to enhancing the investment environment through mutually agreed legal frameworks. The focus remains on increasing trade volume, expanding infrastructure services, and fostering sectoral cooperation, particularly in defense industries.

Both ministers underscored the importance of mutual investments and infrastructure projects to sustain the upward trajectory of bilateral trade.
