The 2,200-year-old Western Theater in the ancient city of Laodicea, one of Denizli’s historical treasures, will host a performance of the world-renowned ballet ‘Zorba’ by the Ankara State Opera and Ballet.

This special event, supported by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, will take place on Saturday, August 24th, at 9:00 PM, and will be free of charge for all attendees.

Adapted from the famous novel by Nikos Kazantzakis, ‘Zorba’ is brought to life with the music of Mikis Theodorakis and choreography by Lorca Massine.

The performance will feature Elisa Arnone as the assistant choreographer, Gurcan Kubilay as the set and costume designer, Tulay Simsek as the costume designer, and Fuat Gok as the lighting designer, all contributing to this magnificent production.

Free transportation and entrance for the Zorba

To make this historic event accessible to everyone in Denizli, free entry to Laodicea will be available starting at 5:00 PM.

Additionally, free shuttle buses will operate from several key locations in the city, including KYK, Justice Park, the Metropolitan Municipality front, Bagbasi Old Municipality front, and Anafartalar Marketplace.

These buses will run every half hour from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Denizli Metropolitan Mayor Bulent Nuri Cavusoglu extended a warm invitation to the people of Denizli to attend this special event.
