Relatives of Israeli prisoners demand ceasefire
As negotiations for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Doha continue with mediation of the U.S., Egypt, and Qatar, Israeli families of hostages held in Gaza staged a protest in Tel Aviv, demanding that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government sign the agreement.
The demonstration, organized by an umbrella group of hostage families, was held under the “Last Chance” slogan. Hundreds of protesters marched towards the Ministry of Defense complex in Tel Aviv in the evening.
At two separate gates of the Ministry of Defense complex, hundreds of relatives of Israeli hostages and their supporters gathered, urging the government to sign the ceasefire and prisoner swap deal currently on the table.
Protesters accused Netanyahu and his government of delaying the agreement for political reasons and directed their slogans against Netanyahu and other far-right figures in his cabinet who oppose the ceasefire.
