Turkish Super Lig week 2 kicks off with exciting matches
The 2nd week of the Trendyol Super Lig will kick off on Aug.15 with the match between Konyaspor and Galatasaray.
According to the Turkish Football Federation’s announcement, the Konyaspor-Galatasaray match will mark the start of the week. Galatasaray, which opened the season with a 2-1 home victory over Atakas Hatayspor, will be looking to return from Konya with no losses.
Galatasaray’s Davinson Sanchez is still recovering from his injury, while new signing Elias Jelert is expected to be included in the squad for this match.
Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce will head to Goztepe for their match, scheduled for August 17th, Saturday, at 9:45 p.m.
After being knocked out by Lille in the Champions League qualifiers, Fenerbahce aims to make a strong comeback against Goztepe and win over their fans.
The major topic of discussion at Fenerbahce is whether star player Ferdi Kadioglu will stay or leave the team. Despite reports of an injury, there are claims it might be a pretext for ongoing transfer negotiations.
It is suggested that Kadioglu might leave the team if he does not play in the Goztepe match.
Besiktas, which started the league with a bang, will host Antalyaspor. New signing Cher Ndour is expected to sit on the bench for the match, which will take place on Aug. 18, Sunday.
