Türkiye’s first unmanned combat Kizilelma UAV completes 8th successful test
Chairman of Baykar’s Board of Directors Selcuk Bayraktar has announced that Türkiye’s first unmanned combat aircraft, Kizilelma, has completed another test.
Bayraktar shared test footage on social media.
The Kizilelma PT-3 has passed its latest test, marking the eighth successful flight test for the unmanned combat aircraft.
Previously, tests of the PT-3’s afterburning new engine and initial taxiing were also shared.
With a $1 billion allocation for its development, the Kizilelma continues to advance through its testing phases. Tests for the PT-3 are conducted in Tekirdag Corlu.
The third prototype of the Kizilelma has undergone both design and structural changes, including the integration of a new engine with afterburner capability and supersonic flight potential.
This prototype features the AI-322F engine, renowned for its 5-hour airborne time and short takeoff and landing capabilities from aircraft carriers.
The aircraft, which is more powerful than earlier prototypes and equipped with an afterburning system, aims to make its first flight soon.
