Jewelry sector exports surged to $948.4 million in July, nearly doubling compared to the same period last year.

The jewelry sector continues to increase its exports by participating in trade fairs abroad and expanding market diversity. Domestic jewelry fairs also contribute to the growing demand for these products from international markets.

These fairs play a significant role in enhancing commercial relations within the jewelry sector. In July, Türkiye’s jewelry exports rose from $496.8 million to $948.4 million compared to the same month last year, nearly doubling the previous year’s figures. Last month, the jewelry sector’s share of total exports was 4.2%.

Examining export figures for jewelry sector subcategories, exports included $408.7 million in gold jewelry and accessories, $27.4 million in silver jewelry and accessories, $493.4 million in unprocessed or semi-processed gold, $4.8 million in unprocessed or semi-processed silver, $184.1 thousand in other items made from precious metals, $11.7 million in scrap metal from precious metals or plated metals, $1 million in watches, parts, and components coated with precious metals, $405.4 thousand in cultured pearls, precious and semi-precious stones and products made from them, and $926.7 thousand in imitation jewelry.

U.A.E. was the top export destination for the jewelry sector with $508.7 million, followed by the U.S. with $50.4 million, Iraq with $43.4 million, Libya with $37.7 million, and Hong Kong with $37.6 million.
