Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) official stated that the country’s west is hosting military drills to “increase combat readiness and vigilance.”

While Iran’s plans to retaliate against Israel following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh have increased tensions in the region, it remains unclear when the attack will take place.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps began military drills in the western province of Kermanshah near the Iraqi border to “increase combat readiness and vigilance.” The drills, which began on Aug.10, will continue until Aug.13, an army official told Iran’s official news agency, IRNA.

According to Iranian media, Deputy Commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Ali Fadavi, said yesterday that Iran’s supreme leader has called for harsh punishments and sanctions against Israel
