Inditex, the Spanish retail group that owns brands including Zara, Massimo Dutti, Pull&Bear, Oysho and Bershka, has responded to rumors of its withdrawal from the Turkish market.

Inditex, which entered the Turkish market 26 years ago, has denied allegations that it is withdrawing from the country, as reported by Turkish newspaper Hurriyet. Inditex Türkiye officials have instead underscored their dedication to the market, announcing that they intend to expand in both the production and retail sectors.

Nike’s decision to close its online sales in Türkiye in response to e-commerce quotas sparked speculation about Inditex’s future in the country. Inditex has responded to these allegations, with company representatives expressing their confusion regarding the speculations.

The company stated, “We are perplexed as to why these allegations persist.”

“We consider Türkiye to be one of our most critical markets. Pricing is not an issue at this location. High-quality producers are located in Türkiye, which is in close proximity to Spain. We are extremely pleased to be in the country, as we have maintained long-standing partnerships,” the company officials added.

Inditex has declared its intention to fortify its presence in Türkiye by expanding its production and establishing new stores. They plan to renovate 14 existing stores and establish 10 new ones this year.

“We are delighted to be a part of Türkiye, in conjunction with our suppliers and employees,” Inditex stated.
