The Meteorology General Directorate has released a new weather forecast for the coming days, essential for tourists planning their visits. Temperatures will rise significantly, especially in the southern regions, and various parts of the country will see scattered showers.

The southern regions of Türkiye will experience temperatures exceeding seasonal norms by 4 to 7 degrees Fahrenheit (2 to 4 degrees Celsius). In Southeastern Anatolia, temperatures will surpass 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius).

Major cities like Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir will also see higher temperatures, with Izmir reaching up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 degrees Celsius).

In the northern and inner regions of Türkiye, along with the Eastern Mediterranean, partly cloudy skies will prevail. Coastal areas of the Black Sea, Artvin, Kars and Ardahan will experience intermittent local thunderstorms.

Meteorology experts advise caution in these regions because of potential sudden heavy rains, which could affect outdoor plans.

In the Marmara region, which includes Istanbul and popular tourist spots like Edirne and Kocaeli, visitors can expect mostly clear skies with temperatures around 88 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit (31 to 33 degrees Celsius). The Aegean region, home to cities like Mugla and Denizli, will also stay clear, with temperatures reaching up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius) in some areas.

Central Anatolia, including Ankara, the capital and Eskisehir, will mostly enjoy clear skies. Temperatures in these areas will be around 90 and 88 degrees Fahrenheit (32 and 31 degrees Celsius), respectively. The northeastern parts of this region will see some cloud cover by the afternoon.

Wind patterns will vary across the country. Northern winds will prevail in most regions, while the coastal areas of the Mediterranean will experience winds from the south. The Aegean region will have occasional strong gusts, which might be noticeable for those near the coast.

For tourists visiting the Black Sea region, partly cloudy skies will be the norm, with short-term local thunderstorms expected in the afternoon, particularly in cities like Samsun, Ordu and Trabzon.

Eastern Anatolia will also see similar weather patterns, with Kars and Ardahan likely to experience thunderstorms in the afternoon.

As temperatures rise, authorities advise residents and visitors to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun – especially during peak hours.
