Instagram users in Türkiye have been unable to access the social media app since Aug. 2. The company has now finally issued a statement addressing the situation.

“Millions have lost a vital means of daily communication because of the Instagram ban in Türkiye, and businesses are struggling to connect with their customers. We are committed to doing everything possible to restore our services,” said the social media app in its official statement.

Instagram met with Türkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, at 1:00 p.m.

However, no timeline was provided for when the access restriction will be lifted.

Reports indicate that an agreement has been reached and that the restriction will be lifted following the upcoming cabinet meeting.
