New member of Türkiye’s energy fleet sets sail
Türkiye’s newly acquired Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) platform has departed from Singapore and is en route to Türkiye, Türkiye’s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said Tuesday.
The platform is expected to arrive after a journey of approximately two months.

Bayraktar shared on his social media account on X that the floating production platform has begun its journey to Türkiye. He highlighted that once the platform reaches Türkiye, it will produce enough natural gas daily to meet the needs of 5 million households.
In his post, Bayraktar stated: “Our floating production platform has set sail from Singapore to Turkey. It will reach our country after an approximately two-month journey. This massive floating industrial facility will produce enough natural gas daily to meet the needs of 5 million households. Safe travels and clear horizons.”
Processing and delivering gas
In the post, it was noted that the floating production platform will be used in the Türkiye’s Sakarya Gas Field Phase-2 operations. The platform measures 298.45 meters in length, 56 meters in width, and has a maximum gas processing capacity of 10.5 million cubic meters. This platform will process the gas produced at sea and deliver it to the land.
