Israel responds to ICJ call for cease-fire in Rafah with deadly attack on civilians

Israel has responded to the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) call for an end to all military operations in Rafah by attacking civilians in tents. The Israeli regime burned and killed over 50 Gazan civilians, mostly women and children, who were seeking refuge in tents.

Musa Akkari, head of the Palestinian Diplomacy Center, shared his remarks on the latest atrocity in Rafah.

‘No military success in Gaza’

“The Zionist ideology views the killing of Palestinian children and women as a sacred duty. They have no military success in Gaza. In fact, 14,000 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza since Oct.7, which they are hiding. They see increasing the scale of massacres as the only way out of their predicament.”

“By attacking the tents, Israel defied the entire international community’s sensitivity to Rafah and the ICJ’s ruling to ‘cease attacks, open humanitarian aid routes, allow media access to Gaza, and provide a detailed report to the ICJ.’ All the victims were civilian women and children. Israel has added to the 35,000 innocent Gazans it has killed in the same manner so far. Hamas had announced its acceptance of the terms of the agreement, but Israel ignored this too,” Akkari said.

Palestine will prevail

In a recent meeting, Israel’s National Security Council officially acknowledged that no military objectives had been achieved to date.

“Our army has not achieved any of its goals in the Gaza Strip. We haven’t retrieved the captives, overthrown Hamas, or allowed safe returns for those who left Gaza. This war might last for years, not just one year as initially stated,” Council Chairman Tzachi Hanegbi said.

‘No historical precedent for this war’

In a surprising development, Israel’s Strategic Planning Director in the Ministry of Defense resigned for similar reasons. Akkari emphasized that the resistance in Gaza retains 75-80% of its strength.

“The Zionist regime is trying to show its power by killing more, both to the international community and its own people. Just a few days ago, they lost eight captives in Jabalia. At least 14,000 of their soldiers have been killed in Gaza, and thousands are wounded. Despite all kinds of massacres, hunger, torture and bombings, Gazans have not and will not abandon their land for the past eight months,” the head of the Palestinian Diplomacy Center said.

“Israel has killed 15,000 of our children and 10,000 of our women. At least 10,000 women and children are still under the rubble. There is no historical precedent for such a war. We are continuing our military struggle without harming a single civilian. All of humanity is witnessing an unprecedented atrocity, but unfortunately, the world is just watching this drama. Israel believes it can win with more blood and destruction, but it is genuinely losing,” Akkari said.

Akkari further said that the Palestinian people would win this war. “Israel’s plans for occupation and forced migration to Egypt or other countries will fail,” he added.

Clashes between Israeli, Egyptian soldiers

There was a clash between Israeli and Egyptian soldiers near the Rafah Border Crossing. The Israeli army confirmed the clash, stating that the incident is under investigation and that dialogue with the Egyptian side is underway.

Israeli media claimed that an Egyptian soldier was killed in the clash.

“The tents melted, and the bodies of people melted,” a survivor of Israel’s latest massacre said.
