Turkish forces eliminate 16 PKK terrorists in ongoing ops
The Ministry of National Defense announced that 16 terrorists were eliminated in operations conducted in the regions of Asos, Hakurk, Gara and the Euphrates Shield area in Syria.
In a statement shared on social media, the ministry emphasized the Turkish Armed Forces continue their anti-terrorism efforts without interruption.
The statement included the following details: “Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces have eliminated 11 PKK terrorists detected in the Asos, Hakurk and Gara regions in northern Iraq and five PKK/YPG terrorists identified in the Euphrates Shield region in northern Syria.”
“Our operations will continue resolutely until there are no terrorists left in the area,” the statement added.
Listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the U.S. and the EU, the PKK is responsible for over 40,000 deaths in its nearly 40-year campaign of terror against Türkiye.
The YPG is the PKK’s extension in Syria.
