Turkish authorities nab bomber linked to Russian attack in Türkiye’s Bodrum
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced Wednesday that the terrorist who was involved in a bomb attack in Russia was captured in Tükriye’s Bodrum.
Yerlikaya announced on social media that the Turkish Interpol/Europol Department was contacted by Russian Interpol officials at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday), who informed them that Evgenii Serebriakov, a Russian national was involved in a car bomb terrorist attack in Moscow, which injured two people.
The suspect had arrived in Türkiye on a Moscow-Bodrum flight.
“Upon investigation, it was found that the individual entered through Bodrum Airport at 9:40 a.m. and was not identified at the time as he was not listed in the Interpol International Wanted Persons Database (e-ASF) nor did he have an active UYAP record,” Yerlikaya explained.
“Coordination with the necessary institutions was established, and the individual matching the identity details and photographs provided by the Russian Interpol Unit was apprehended in Bodrum today by our Muğla Provincial Police Department units,” he added.
