Türkiye’s Gokbey debuts at Farnborough Airshow
The Farnborough International Airshow, one of the most prestigious events in the aviation, defense and space industries, has opened its doors to visitors. Held in Farnborough, England, the event features numerous international defense and aerospace companies. Approximately 80 aircraft will perform demonstration flights throughout the show.
For the first time abroad, Türkiye’s national aircraft Gokbey will showcase its flight capabilities at the airshow. Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), Gokbey will conduct four flights during the event from July 22-26. Gokbey’s performance will highlight Türkiye’s advancements in aviation technology and its international competitiveness.
TAI will also display 1/7 scale models of its jet trainer aircraft Hurjet, Hurkus, T129 Atak Helicopter, T625 Gokbey General Purpose Helicopter, and its unmanned aerial vehicle family including Aksungur, Anka, and Anka III. Additionally, the KAAN experience area and satellite models will be presented to visitors.
Aselsan is participating in the Farnborough International Airshow for the first time, showcasing its military and civilian air platform systems at its stand.
Turkish Airlines unveils innovations
Turkish Airlines, participating with its top management, has introduced its new Crystal Business seats, which offer enhanced comfort and technology. Turkish Airlines also announced plans to provide free internet service to all passengers by the end of next year. These innovations aim to boost customer satisfaction and reinforce the airline’s leadership in the sector.
During the event, Turkish Airlines’s senior management will hold meetings with the press to discuss the company’s future vision and innovative projects.
Additionally, Turkish Engine Industries Inc. (TEI) from Türkiye is also participating in the show.
Expected international cooperation agreements
Major international companies such as RTX Corporation, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin are among the key participants in the airshow. The event is expected to facilitate new international purchasing and cooperation agreements.
Reflecting recent revitalization in the aerospace industry, the Farnborough International Airshow is anticipated to attract significant interest and participation.
