US President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19, UnidosUS President Janet Murguia announced on Wednesday at the UnidosUS Annual Conference. The announcement came after the crowd had been waiting for his speech, which was overdue by 90 minutes.

Biden was scheduled to deliver remarks at the 2024 UnidosUS Annual Conference, one of the largest gatherings of Latinos and allies committed to increasing opportunity and driving social justice for the Latino community.

After the extended delay, Murguia addressed the audience, thanking them for their patience. She explained that she had spoken with President Biden on the phone and confirmed that he would not be attending the conference due to his positive COVID-19 test.

About the severity of his case, White House announced that US President is only experiencing “mild symptoms”

Murguia conveyed Biden’s deep disappointment, sharing his regret at not being able to attend and participate in the conference.
