Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz expresses confidence in reaching a $5 billion trade volume with Uzbekistan after discussions on deepening bilateral relations

Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz expressed optimism on achieving a bilateral trade volume of $5 billion with Uzbekistan, citing that current trade exceeded $3.1 billion by the end of 2023.

Following a meeting with Uzbek Economy Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov in Tashkent, Yilmaz highlighted discussions on Turkish-Uzbek relations across political, economic, and cultural spheres, as well as mutual investments in sectors including agriculture, construction, energy, transportation, and banking.

Yilmaz emphasized Türkiye’s recognition of Tashkent’s role within the Organization of Turkic States and acknowledged Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms, foreseeing strengthened cooperation between the two nations.

He expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by Kuchkarov and his delegation, expressing optimism for continued bilateral cooperation and growth.
