Majority of Israelis demand Netanyahu’s resignation amid ‘failures’
A survey conducted by Israel’s TV Channel 12 has revealed that a significant portion of the Israeli population is dissatisfied with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu due to his “failures.”
According to the poll, 44% of respondents believe Netanyahu should “resign immediately,” while 28% think he should step down once the ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip end. Among those who identify as supporters of the current government, 50% believe Netanyahu should resign before his term ends.
Additionally, 42% of government supporters feel that the prime minister should complete his term.
The poll showed that 72% of Israeli citizens think Netanyahu should resign because of the “failures of October 7.”
Responsibility for failures
The survey conducted by Israel’s TV Channel 12 indicates that Netanyahu is viewed by the participants as the “most responsible” for the Oct. 7 debacle.
Around 39% of the respondents named Netanyahu as the “most responsible person,” while 18% blamed former Military Intelligence Chief Maj. Gen. Aharon Haliva and 10% pointed to Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi.
Additionally, 7% of participants held Israel’s Internal Security Service Director Ronen Bar responsible for the attacks, and 4% believed Defense Minister Yoav Gallant was to blame.
